Idaho Housing Grants Resources
Idaho Housing and Finance Association
Idaho Housing and Finance Association is an organization that deals with providing affordable housing resources in Idaho communities that are most in need. The company receives housing grants from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Department. The money received is being used in many significant projects like emergency shelters, transitional housing, and of course, permanent housing privileges especially to low-income Idahoans. For further organized work, all the grant opportunities are identified and administered by the company to have safe and affordable housing around Idaho. They have a Federal HOME Program designed to strengthen the union or partnership between the local government, housing developers and non-profit organizations to provide decent, affordable, and comfortable housing for middle and low-income families and individuals.
Aside from this, IHFA also caters for the special needs of individuals with the intention of giving them proper housing that will suit their necessities and essentials. Programs include Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS/HIV (HOPWA), Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG), Supportive Housing Program (SHP), Shelter Plus Care Program (S+C) and the 2010 Continuum of Care Grant. Meanwhile, the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is an organized data collection system that takes care of all the information needed to service individuals depending on their different characteristics to address the community-wide problem of homelessness.

It is designed to help the persons with disabilities to live a life without any impediments with regard to their handicap or disabilities. The grant is intended to make the homes of disabled Idaho residents easier to live in. All interested applicants are entitled to receive at least $5,000.00 per household. The total household income must be at least below eighty percent of the entire Idaho state income. The applicants are required to document their disability needs. They also need to prove their household income so they can submit a report concerning all the works that need to be done in the house. The report must be concise and detailed.

Among the many essential programs designed by the Boise City/Ada County Housing Authority is the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP). Aside from the affordable housing units being offered to homeless residents, it also gives case management assistance to families and individuals who are already in the housing but are still at risk to become homeless. The program offers temporary assistance to obtain and retain housing loans. The HPRP is responsible for the many expenses that should be shouldered by the needful residents like the expenses for utilities, the moving costs, security deposits, not to mention the rent in the chosen unit, and the likes.
