Nevada Housing Grants Resources

Nevada is the 35th most populous and 9th least densely populated state. Nevada population is estimated to be 2,723,322 on July 2011 as per the United States Census Bureau. The economy of Nevada has long been tied to vice industries. Economic Analysis estimated that Nevada’s total state product in 2010 was $126 billion.

Nevada offers several grants to its residents. Some of which include medical grants, Nevada housing grants, and educational grants.

Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority (SNRHA)

SNRHA is a well-recognized and innovative leader in the continuum of housing programs. They offer different opportunities that will eventually lead to empowerment and greater self sufficiency

SNRHA’s mission is to provide quality and sustainable housing options, as well as opportunities. All of which can lead to empowerment and self sufficiency of the town and residents respectively.

They are known to conduct business fairly and with transparency. This Nevada housing grant creates partnerships within the community, which has the same values. They are very sensitive to cultural diversity and strive to provide quality for attainment of public trust.

SNRHA has an annual budget of $131 million with receipt of approximately$20 million in ARRA funds.

They currently hold 24 public housing developments located throughout Clark County. They maintain 1164 Affordable Housing Units without receiving subsidy from HUD. They also administer approximately 10,000 Housing Choice Vouchers.

Nevada Affordable Housing Assistance (NAHA)

NAHA offers a program called Deferred Loan Program, which utilizes Nevada Affordable Housing Assistance Corporation funds. This Nevada housing grant is used to assist low-income individuals or families with down payment and assistance for homeownership.

This program offers residents an interest-free deferred loan with no monthly payments. Payment will only be due upon sale, transfer of title, or refinance.

The maximum NAHA Deferred Loan may not exceed $5,000.

Nevada Rural Housing Authority (NRHA)

Established in 1973, NRHA was created to address the ongoing need of affordable shelter. They believed that shelter is a basic human need.

NRHA’s mission is to enhance the quality of life in rural communities by providing the right resources for achievement of greater independence. This is made possible through affordable housing and other related programs of the state.

NRHA offers a Nevada housing grant program that creates a hope for the future by providing a wide range of housing. They have different community development programs that can help build and sustain independent communities.

NRHA has been partnering up with Nevada counties, rural cities, and the State to pool federal bond funds. This has resulted in a state-wide program that has helped nearly 900 families purchase their very first home.
