Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP)
MHP is a statewide, public, non-profit affordable housing organization working in concert with the Governor and Department of Housing and Community Development to provide more affordable housing for the residents of Massachusetts.
This Massachusetts housing grant program was established in 1985. Their main goal was to increase the overall rate of housing production and find more ways of doing so in the state of Massachusetts.
In 1990, an interstate banking act was passed requiring companies that acquire Massachusetts banks to make funds for MHP that will be dedicated for building more affordable housing.
MHP is the forefront of housing innovation in Massachusetts. They have helped create a whole lot of other programs for the same goal. They have done the basics and more having supported over 300 of the 351 towns and cities in Commonwealth.
Since 1990, Massachusetts Housing Partnership’s one-of-a-kind loan has grown to approximately $1.1 billion.

HAPHousing
HAP is the region’s housing partnership for Hampden and Hampshire Counties in Western Massachusetts.
This Massachusetts housing grant program is a non-profit organization that earned its reputation as being the leader in facilitating access to homeownership and housing needs. They collaborate with other community-based organizations for the same goal of creating affordable housing and revitalizing urban areas.
They have been helping Massachusetts residents for over 35 years now. They were originally established to provide assistance to low-income individuals or families seeking a safe, decent, and affordable housing.
HAP assists more than 2,000 households each year making it the largest non-profit affordable housing developer based in Western Massachusetts.

Through the act of the Massachusetts Legislature in 1966, MassHousing was created as an independent public authority providing Massachusetts housing grants and making affordable rental and for-sale housing throughout Massachusetts.
Since the first loan in 1970, they have already provided more than $13 billion for the financing of affordable housing for Massachusetts residents.
MassHousing is considered one of the premier housing finance agencies throughout the country. They have won numerous national awards for their creativity and innovation in affordable housing.
This Massachusetts housing grant program’s mission is to provide affordable housing for low to moderate income individuals and families in Massachusetts. They are a self-sustaining agency and claims not to use taxpayer dollars in any of its housing programs.
